#MaternalCare: Anthonia and Her Beautiful Set Of Twins We Helped Deliver

We met Anthonia (21) on our boat ride into the Sogunro community. Her husband was in charge of the boat and he asked about our reason for visiting the community. we explained and he asked if his wife could come along. We were her first contact with skilled health care in pregnancy at almost 7 months gestation. We also learnt from her that she has been pregnant twice and has lost both babies at 1&9month respectively. It was alarming for us so we made referral this time a member of the team had to go with her. We reached out to the MOH of Lagos mainland local government who assisted us and ensured that Anthonia had a complete blood test (HIV, Blood group genotype, PCV

, Hep, syphilis etc) all came out clean. She was also taken for a scan all free of charge. It was from the scan result that we discovered that she was expecting twins which even led to more preparation towards a safe and smooth delivery.

She delivered her set of twins (boy&girl) weighing 3.2kg and 2.7kg on the 4th of November 2017.

We are grateful to God that she and the children are doing well and paying closer attention to ensure that they live, survive and thrive to 5years and beyond. We are only able to save and serve them because of your consistent support so thank you.
